Brunches refer to meals that are taken in the hours of the day that fall between breakfast and lunch, usually in the late mornings. The intention is to skip breakfast and lunch so that the two are combined into a single brunch. Later risers are the ones that take this meal more often. Some people may also still rise up early but still plan to have a brunch in the place of eating lunch and breakfast separately.

The term brunch is derived from the first two letters of breakfast and the last three letters of lunch. Brunch in Colorado is a typical meal that residents take frequently. The popularity of the meal has grown a lot in the United States even though it has its origin from Britain. The term came up as a student slang in 1896 according to an article written in Punch magazine.

In most cases, brunches are served after people have engaged in some form of activity in the morning. Also, they are served before people engage in some activity in the afternoon. Some of the activities which people may engage in include sporting events and wedding. The meal is viewed a very relaxing and appropriate for informal celebrations. Its continues to grow in popularity around the world.

Brunch as a meal has been promoted through films. There are several movies that talk about the meal or have people taking it. There are also several hotels and restaurants in Colorado and the rest of the United States that serve brunches to customer. The meal is more commonly served on holidays and weekends. They are served in the form of serve-yourself buffets. Besides buffets, the meals may also be taken as menu-ordered meals.

Brunches consist of standard breakfast foods, which include bacon, ham, sausages, eggs, pastries, pancakes, and fruits. Any food item that is served during the day may also be included in the menu. When the meal is served as a buffet, it may include smoked fish, soups, large roasts of poultry/meat, salads, vegetable dishes, deserts, and cold seafood.

Chinese restaurants are known for the habit of preparing brunches. Those that are located in Colorado include many food items in their menus. Foods are prepared using several methods of food preparation, which include stuffing, roasting, cooking, deep-frying, and steaming. Carts are used for supplying food to people around the restaurants. The carts are moved around and people pick what they want to eat from them.

The carts are moved in circles until the food runs out. The cart is then returned to the kitchen for resupply of food. Food is prepared non-stop in the kitchen to serve the needs of everybody. How frequently brunches are prepared in a restaurant usually depend on what preferences the public has.

Customers can place reservations for brunches so that restaurants can prepare them in advance. In most cases, brunches cost a flat rate. All members partaking in the brunch have to pay the flat amount to eat. In some cases, the cost may be charged per food item included into the menu. However, this is usually uncommon.
