The consequences of lack of adherence are different but all are severe. These are low quality of life, lack of protection and immunity from any future attacks because the body is not able to fend off these attacks, health complications and even death.

It is very important to have a good relationship with your primary care giver or pharmacist. The reason being that one is empowered to ask any questions they have and get all the necessary information needed. This includes vitamins and food to avoid, side effects that may occur and steps to follow when you miss a dosage.

There are other many ways of ensuring total and complete adherence. These include use of applications that alert one of dosage times and text message alerts, setting alarm times on the phone and asking a friend or roommate for reminders. Make sure to talk to a health care provider when one skips dosage.

Taking medicine as ordered by a doctor or pharmacist is important. This personal decision allows patients to manage diseases and health conditions. Staying healthy is important. Stay motivated and remain focused until you clear your medication.
